Switzerland

One of Europe’s oldest direct democracies, Switzerland is characterised by a high level of stability and economical prosperity. Unsurprisingly, given the sovereignty of its people, the country also has possibly the most liberal right-to-die law worldwide. Its right-to-die groups EXIT Deutsche Schweiz and EXIT A.D.M.D will celebrate their 30th anniversary in 2012, and host the world congress in honour of the occasion. So while the country may well be the perfect place to sort out the serious issues on the agenda, it is also one of the world’s most scenic settings to celebrate this anniversary.
